A band that I am not too familiar with, but have heard some on Sirius lately, Dinosaur Pile-up. An English band with a good English alt type sound.
The first song of theirs that I can remember hearing. 11:11. Try it out on the below link.
Enjoy
If you know anything about me, music is one of the 3 things that really keeps me going. For the last 3 weeks, I have had the pleasure of seeing a concert a week.
First off, Guns N Roses in Atlanta. I never was able to see them growing up and I had always held out for a reunion tour. Maybe it wasn't exactly them in their prime, but it sure brought back memories of sitting on a bus almost 30 years ago listening to Appetite for Destruction. Even with a little age, and Axl adding a couple pounds, it was worthwhile experience.

Sorry for the grainy quality of them also.
Secondly, it was re-visiting 2 bands that I saw last year for the first time, Marilyn Manson and Slipknot at Carolina Rebellion. Manson was my biggest disappointment at the festival last year, but at this concert he really made up for it. Slipknot is easily one of my favorite bands to see live. The raw power and energy is something that only translates to a live show. Even though at this show we didn't dodge crowd surfers and mosh pits like at the Rebellion, it was still an amazing show. Weird to think that the lead singer, Corey Taylor, would play so recently after discovering he had been walking around for years with a broken neck and having to undergo emergency surgery. If that isn't Metal I don't know what is.
Lastly, there was the Chevelle and Bush show from this last week. Chevelle is a band that I enjoy more and more with every album they release. If you haven't heard their recent release, North Corridor, you should go grab it. As for Bush, I guess Gavin needs money or something. They weren't bad, but I questioned why they were on the ticket. But he did come all the way out to lawn where I could slap his shoulder for cheating on Gwen Stefani. He probably didn't even realize that was why I popped him, ha.
So that was a good 3 weeks for me, plus very much needed with all the current stresses going on. But that is what it is. I did a rough count earlier in the week. I think have seen around 35 bands this year. (the majority of them at Carolina Rebellion). It has been a good year to say the least. I am going real old school on my next show. Stay Tuned. Until then, rock on!
I've been meaning to do a post on my buddy for a bit, but I realized it was 6 months ago that I picked her up. The sass, attitude and compassion out of her hasn't changed one bit since the day I brought her home. In that time, she has met family, friends, neighbors and had her spats with Suki. (Suki still keeps in her check for me). She has spent a lot of time at Club Fetch (which I highly recommend), some at the office, and being the hit of the neighborhood, plus trying to keep it clean. Holding down the couch and sitting in the window sill are still here favorite activities. Hopefully one day, Suki will let her share the sun and grab a little bit to eat first. Such a happy little character and she has been a good stress relief for me.
